What is BS6 Phase 2 norms?
The phase 2 of the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms are coming into effect in India from today, i.e. April 1, 2023. It focuses on real driving emissions and all the vehicles will now come with an OBD (On Board Diagnostic) system to monitor real-time emission levels.

What is BS6 vs BS6 Phase 2?
In a nutshell, the major difference between BS6 phase 1 vs BS6 phase 2 norms is that while in the first stage, the vehicles needed to be tested only in labs, the BS6 phase 2 compliant models will have to meet the emission norms in real-world conditions apart from being tested in laboratories.

What is BS6 obd2?
Back in 2016, the Government of India had rolled out a circular mandating the need for all vehicles, including two-wheelers, to be fitted with an “Onboard Diagnostic Device” (OBD) from April 1, 2020, as part of the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms.

BS6 Phase 2 is the second level of emission standards which concentrates on decreasing vehicle emissions of particulate matter (PM) by 80%, nitrogen oxide (NOx) by 68%, hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO) by 50%.

Bro mostly every car has OBD device from long time in India.
Please check any car below Steering. Now in India mostly no mechanic uses OBD/OBD2 or unaware of OBD/OBD2.There is a high end artifact required to implement sensor based gas detection/throttle sensor/Lamda/Map/crankshaft etc for OBD which is high in cost. As India is known for ruthless hefty taxes on automobiles to loot people, implementing this will increase cost and eventually tax on implementation.
Skoda Octavia is out of out of market in India followed by Superb next year.
Many cars will be discontinued in 2024.
