How to Maximize Metal Farming in Ark Survival Ascended | New Metal Nodes Explained

This video goes over my discoveries with how the new metal nodes work in this beautiful new game Ark Survival Ascended. I go over all my testing and math so if I'm wrong you can point it out and we can all learn together. Then I show you the strength of the tools you will need to get the most metal possible out of the island map. Then I go over a few locations of the, hidden in plain sight, special metal nodes in the game.

In ASE Nodes hat a Set max amount you can get. I'm going to assume it's the same in ASA. Melee plays a part in how much of it you will get. I used to raise ankys and once they got to like 500 you were getting the max amount. We kept breeding their melee anyways because people wanted it. *shrug* But we focused on weight mostly. Still once we hit around 500 melee, we saw little to no difference between the 500 vs the 2k one. Both destroyed the node in 1 hit, and both gave roughly the same amount.

You should do dunky testing as well. I heard you can get up to 16k metal in 15 minutes with a dunky if you know the right place. I think I remember them being round rocks (not river rocks)

Good job. Too many people give their opinions in their videos like this. We need more numbers and data like you provided

Just stumbled across your video and since I am having trouble with metal I stayed and watched. Nice video. Liked and subscribed.

In ASE there also were 2 node types. 1 was fully golden, the other had some gold but was mostly dark gray

I really appreciate the time you spent on this. I subscribed and can only wait for the next one regarding zino or so in detail. Thank you.

Awesome video and love how detailed you approached everything.

Interesting how the base damage is so important. Assuming that this applies across the board it doesn't really change much in how I approach gathering since I typically bring along a beast of burden anyway so adding a mate isn't a big issue.

This was so informative and yet hilarious, I don’t know why

I feel there might be a chance that there's now small/medium/large nodes. Like we had the small nodes (sprinkled gold rocks). And the large nodes (solid gold rocks).

Instead of changing rock size or appearance (and to mix up the static of only chasing certain metal nodes). I think there's a chance now that metal nodes could be small node, medium node and large node. Which results in the 50-80. 80-100. 200+ metal from different rocks and why your first test with the triple rocks appeared to not work out. If the small nodes cap out regardless of your dino melee, then it would make more sense.

All this would then also mean that only so much melee % would be needed.

EXAMPLE: Like 600% with imprint buff and no mate boost OR 500% With mate boost and imprint.
