Our journey for equality began over a century ago, with the suffragists demanding the right to vote, and continues today with Kamala Harris on the path to shattering the highest glass ceiling.

Set to Laura Bell Bundy’s (Tony Nominated Broadway actress & Billboard Top 5 recording artist) powerful anthem “American Girl,” we honor the trailblazers and pioneers who have shaped our nation—from Supreme Court Justices, to survivors who have spoken out, even as our hard-won rights to our own bodies have been taken away from us.

I’m a 21yo woman, not American and never been to the US, but trust me Harris is making waves beyond American borders. It’s not just girls in the US women everywhere are paying attention. In some parts of the world, women are banned from even speaking in public, and here’s America about to have its first woman president. How powerful is that? Even from far away, I can feel the hope she brings. It’s so inspiring!

Every time I watch this I get chills. Despite the election's horrible outcome, I keep watching this to remind me of the American women who fought for our equality in the past and why we must continue fighting for our granddaughters' future. I'm 73 and have been fighting since the early 1970s. So many women before me did not give up, nor should we.
