Hello

We own a trotec printer and are now using the Ruby software.
In the old Jobcontrol software there was an option to place bridges during the cut out job so that the engraved plates would not fall out of the material and we could push them out ourselfes.
This way we could supply our customer with 1 plate containing severalmplares that they could push out themselves.
Why is this functionality not available in Ruby

Hi Dave, am having trouble with assigning different colors for different cuts in ruby and also outlining the the job without cutting or engraving to see if the design will fit can you help?

My 'Generate Stamp' button setting includes a rectangular setting with a minimum distance of 1.00 from the cutline and a checkbox for 'Mirror'. An error message displays stating 'Unknown error (ERR_STAMP_003)' after hitting 'Generate Stamp'. Can you tell me what that means? Ruby update to 2.10.0.52095. The company is using Speedy 300.

Is there a possibility to add tabs (like for CNC machining) to a design with this software ?

I really hope they add a text to path tool or make it so we will be able to put text into a circle or oval shape - it would help make many jobs so much easier to just edit (like a name) in RUBY - instead of doing it all in Illustrator and then having to export it.

Please don't phase out Job Control. It really just seems like a better piece of software to me, even if it is more old school.

I’m extremely disappointed that Ruby isn’t available for Mac and/or Linux. I haven’t used Windows since 2012, and I’m not going back for laser software. This is one reason why LightBurn has such large market share. It’s also the main reason I won’t use Trotec’s admittedly wonderful, fast lasers, despite their design and performance advantages.

Ruby doesn't allow you to set markers and so you can't adjust your object or print form. So it's more a playful simple software for beginners but for professional tasks you will need job control. The problem: job control doesn't works on the new trotec lasers - so better buy an older model before 2022.
