For me, again for my situation I have a supplement Medicare and would not go with an Advantage plan. I can visit many specialist and have tests done without prior approval from an insurance company anywhere in the USA. I am paying for a Florida medigap plan a monthly premium of $70.95 (F-HD).
I do understand for folks with low income to go with an Advantage plan.

Couldn’t help but laugh when you said MOOP. How many takes did you have to do over before you controlled your laughter. My agent talked to me about my health before offering me my Advantage plan. In Georgia my maximum out of pocket, (moop) is $6500.00 with this policy. I am in excellent health, take no meds and rarely see a doctor. My Advantage plan also pays about 1/2 of part B. Again as always a good video.

I've been on a FL HMO Medicare Advantage Plan for several years now, and I like it OK. Low MOOP (around $4K) and most of the docs and both hospitals in the area accept it. However, it costs (in 2021) $35.00 per month premium, and certainly doesn't pay any of my Part B premium, lol. (I wish...!) This year, they offered a $0 premium version, as well, but the co-pays were somewhat higher. However, the big difference was that it had a different prescription drug formulary than the other 2 Advantage plans this HMO offers. I'm not on any prescription drugs, but to me, a "different formulary" means that if I do need a drug, it won't be covered or else it'll cost me a much higher amount. So I stayed on the plan I've been on instead of switching.

My father inlaw has come up from Florida to Ohio and is going to be here over a year, because he is a little ill and all his children are in Ohio and can't be there to take care of him properly . I understand he has a 2 month window to get a different advantage plan because the one from Florida will not be good for him in Ohio for all that time ?

So I'm not a boomer... but I'm currently disabled. I am moving to Florida with my daughter for college this month. My Medicare benefits begin on August 1st, and I am truly so lost!
