We take the Samsung Galaxy S5 with Lollipop (Android 5.0) for a tour! The Verizon version of the phone is the first to receive it, so naturally, we updated and took it for a spin.

Those pastel color's with the bright white background are brutal.

You said it best, "I don't think anything has changed much."... Lol 😂
Nice to see Verizon pushing these updates out first rather than months later than everyone else.... pat on the back Verizon!
Thanks for the quick run down! Kellen Barranger

Why these none Samsung users complaining about what Samsung did or didn't do with lollipop, Samsung been doing their own thing and successful at it, that means that people love Samsung ways. I did not expect a complete lollipop look from Samsung and that's cool with me, like this dude here this he was going to see a new look in the camera 😂😂😂 step off and go get you Nexus player and stay bored #teamSamsung

I was initially very bummed that the little multiwindow/multitasking button was gone. I however discovered holding the back key brings up the old multitasking menu. Figured this could be good info for anyone who hadn't discovered that yet and we're bummed by the change

I own the S5 And got the lollipop update about 3 to 4 days ago. Since then I noticed when I go to YouTube videos load instantly. Second thing I use geekbench 3. And ran it and every time my multi core score has been over 3000. Third thing is it has improved my battery life. So the lollipop update is definitely worth getting to improve the performance and hopefully battery life on your Android device.

Just got the 5.0 lastnight. Changes i noticed from the kitkat was :
White screen for most pages.
Previous apps window changed.
MultiWindow changed.
Lighter blue shade of top bar.
Different gray shade of keypad.
Green focused ring in camera is gone.
Block is now Interrupt.
Turn on/off = 3secs flat.
So far...so good.

Installed CyanogenMod 12.1 on my S4 and i'm loving it! The battery life is amazing! No bloatware! Very small amounts of RAM used by system (400MB-500MB). No lag. No more TouchWiz!

The s5 does have the smart lock with lollipop. It's in security which I found a bit odd, but at least it has it, and I love trusted places so far. Works flawlessly.

Wouldn't all the white screens, such as on the notification panel drain the battery faster? I refuse to update to Lollipop on my Note 4...

It works smooth now. I'm with the Galaxy S5 Exynos, and no complaints.

Silence mode is now available.

Yes, it has lag, but thats TouchWiz and most of Android UIs problems..

Thanks Kellen for this. So where the heck is the Guest Mode for Samsung? Like what you would get on Stock Android L. Thanks man.

Any significant speed or performance updates on camera, multitasking and the rest?

I like it, I'd prefer they made some more drastic changes, but It's certainly nicer than any other skin out there, it looks nicer to use than Stock too.

Samsung does have the safe lock thing you were talking about.

would be great if samsung gave you the choice of using Touchwiz interface or the stock android system. Period.
