Man created the word Christmas and has the option to abbreviate same. Anyone that can read should know that although scripture does not give an exact date it does tell us that Mary conceived in the 6th month upon the angel Gabriel's visit. Nine months later would be March. Emperor Constantine decreed his birth to be 25 Dec because he didn't want conflict between these folowers of Christ and the pagan who had already been celebrating the birth of the sun god (Nimrod) whose birth was 25 December. The pagans celebrated from 25 Dec thru Jan 1. How many of us go into unnecessary debt trying to buy gifts for family and friends every year. I used to be in debt from Dec until Oct and it would start all over again. So, I canceled it at my house. Oh, I caught hell for sure. Took me 2 years to get thru the hate from family and friends but the money I saved allowed me to pay for tutoring and summer camps. My kids are all grown now. I have six. Half do Christmas and half don't but they all know that it's a tradition and not biblical.
