Sorry, could you explain how you derived the initial velocity? So when we work out projectiles, we get the initial velocity using trig?

We usually split the initial velocity into a horizontal and vertical component.. This was a different question than most of the exam questions on projectiles (I liked it!) as we needed to work out the angle of the projectile ourselves. Usually, we are told the angle.. I used suvat equations on question B and not the quadratic formula. Because it's awkward to isolate the t in s=ut+1/2at^2 I calculated the velocity using v^2=u^2+2as then with my additional value I used v=u+at...t=(v-u)/a. Would I lose marks for this method?
