I totally understand his nervous behaviour in front of the police station. After all, he was out of his comfort zone not singing, not dancing, not in control, not on stage, not hiding behind the make-up, funky hair and clothes, not protected behind lights and not on stage where there is a clear demarcation line between him and the public. By standing there he knew he was judged as a drug suspect by an unforgiving Korean society and press going out for his blood. He answered all the questions brilliantly and intelligently, showing a high level of maturity and self-control, and by using complex vocabulary. There is no doubt that he deserves all the admiration and respect of the public. He also earned the right to smile and should not be apologetic about it 🤭Well done!!

He was always criticised more than the other stars because he was and is the first international Korean star of this size. This year he has been on stage for 30 years, only a few have been able to remain successful for so long.

He doesn't use drugs. The negative test result confirms this. I work in a library in a part of town that's low income and a lot of times people high on drugs come inside the building. They don't act anything like GD. They don't appear nervous, stressed or self conscious because the drugs making them high make them less inhibited.
Also, people who are high talk a LOT. It's usually very stream of conscious, blathering that jumps from topic to topic and is illogical. GD answers questions succinctly. He doesn't blather on and on. Also, at the police station he was the on who ended the interview so he coukd leave. Drug addicts are nearly impossible to get away from. Once tgey start talking to you they don't want to stop. You basically have to fake an emergency to get away from them and extricate yourself from the conversation. GD ends the conversations at the police station himself. I've worked in a library for over 10 years so I have seen a lot of drug users. GD is not a drug user. He behaves nothing like a drug user.

some people have tics that manifest when nervous or when under stress. the american CDC (centers for disease control) notes that having tics is a little bit like having hiccups. according to the cdc, "tics are sudden twitches, movements, or sounds that people do repeatedly. people who have tics cannot stop their body from doing these things." tics can range from blinking or squinting of eyes, shrugging of shoulders, sniffing, to jerking of arms, et cetera. on the extreme end, tics can be a symptom of a more serious disorder like tourette's syndrome. not necessarily related to drug use.

I'm pretty sure he has always been shy, akward and uncomfortable when interviewed since his debut. Those same feelings remain with him as an adult. The only time you will see him being him being comfortable and relaxed is when he's creating/performing his music & craft.. Part's of the Korean newspapers/media are beginning to follow British newspaper outlets by influencing the public with speculation 😅😅

As someone who've watched this man mature, he's been like this ever since. If you go back to his interview when he was discharged from military training, he's demeanor and actions were just the same. Its hard to live a life like him. Its so lonely. 😢😢

People in the comments who say it's a neurological disorder need to calm down. That could be one of many reasons and at his age there are other reasons that are more plausible. He's dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety constantly when talking with the press, so his twitches could also come from that. I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE. Every time I am about to have a panic attack I can calm myself down with stimming which sometimes includes twitches. And sometimes I stim because I am stressed, or when I am bored or even when I'm comfortable and happy (yes, I am autistic, but realistically anyone under immense stress can start stimming!).

Good lord leave the poor man alone, stop looking for signs of something that is not there, I watch the press conference and he didn’t seem weird or anything like that, he looked nervous as anyone would be, dealing with the police whether your innocent or not is nerve wracking for anyone, and yes he is a incredibly smart man who has been in the spot light for years and people are always quick to take something said out of context, especially some media, but I didn’t think his answers were slow, if the were, I agree he was being cautious in his words, as for the smile, he was probably relieved it was over, and the results proved what he said all along, he is innocent.
Now if everyone would let this man live his life in relative peace would really be fantastic.
