DIY Solo Garden Office Build, Part 15 - Western Red Cedar Cladding

Показать описание
Clad in 18mm thick, 96mm wide tongue and groove Canadian Western Red Cedar from Duffield Timber in Ripon, North Yorkshire. First time I've used this. It's so light and easy to work with, makes me want to give up affinity to Oak and Bamboo. More softwoods please.

The corners and door/window frames are a 40mm L corner profile, also in cedar.

I turned my roof overhang support posts into a design feature. This was some 12mm boards, just because they had some sale packs and this stuff is very expensive 😬.

Was oiled using Osmo UV-Protection-Oil, which really brings out the colours. It's nice to put on, but with the cold weather it's taking ages to settle and some bits are still a bit tacky.

Sorry, added some light background tune to help the time lapse sequence...😂🤦‍♂️😅

Just a question, why do you not "butt" each edge up to the window/next piece with some sort of sealant? I mean the left right joins? Also how do u do corners

Excellent job, I also watch all the Oakwood garden rooms videos so good to see you use same techniques etc. Did anything cause you major headaches, any areas to watch out for ?

Looks absolutely fantastic 👏🏾👏🏾
Can I ask if your doors and windows are aluminium or upvc and where you got them from? I’m looking at purchasing French Doors for my future build.
