Halo 4 turns ten years old today!

Check out our Halo 4 tenth anniversary blog and take a journey back to 2012 with some of the fine folks who helped bring the debut mainline Halo title of 343 Industries to life—and get a glimpse at further support coming to Halo 4 on MCC, including the long-awaited addition of Theater mode for Campaign and Spartan Ops.

During Halo Fest 2011, we teased Halo 4 with a trailer showing concept art in motion. Over a decade later, see how that art was realized in the game itself to bring to life the esoteric alien wonders of Requiem, supported by “Legacy” from Neil Davidge’s spellbinding score.

I will never forget playing this game on a generator the day it came out at a friends house after my entire house was flooded and I was forced to leave an go live at my grandparents due to hurricane Sandy, my best friends and I all lost our homes and this game came at the most needed time and provided unforgettable fun and memories at the perfect time. Thank you 343i for this game.

I remember beating co op with my dad several times before he passed, and he always expressed his anticipation of the sequel, always hoping we would get to see the Chief without his helmet. He never beat the game on legendary. Over 8 years after his death I came back with the MCC and started playing each campaign on legendary. Getting the extra cutscene at the end of the game hit me hard knowing he missed something he always wondered...

Halo 4’s music is either a miss or a big hit, so many good themes in this game and this one is probably one of the best. Can’t believe it’s been a decade since.

I remember looking at some of this art as I turned through a game informer back in 2011/12 and being absolutely overwhelmed with anticipation, that art with the towers and all the clouds is absolutely beautiful

Happy Birthday halo 4, the game that sparked my 10th birthday 5 days after it's release and gave me one of my favorite halo experience and my some of my fondest moments in the franchise. Happy 10th birthday halo 4, and an early 20th to me

Can't believe it's been ten years already. And to think, this came out when I was in 3rd grade. It was around the 4th or 5th Halo game I had played, the others being Halo 3, Reach, Halo Wars, and maybe 3 ODST.

It's still one of my favourites.

This game made my childhood on Xbox and will forever be my favorite halo game. Too many good memories multilayer with the creepy flood models and sounds, friends I’ll probably never talk to again, Spartan ops were cool and the campaign 🤌 beautiful, really was done well. If only the following game actually continued off it with what we thought was going to come. Miss what halo 4 gave me but Ill definitely never forget it.

I still love halo 4 to this day, so much nostalgia
