The fruit roll-up is Iranian and is actually a mixture of different fruit, which is probably why it tastes so funky. It doesn't say what fruit, but going by experience it's probably a mix of apricot, sour cherries, and apple.

For anyone wondering, yes the taro pie was indeed out of date.
The reason the year appears as '60' is because Thailand uses the Buddhist calendar, the 60 is shortened from 2560 which going by the Gregorian calendar is 2017.
Also the reason why the packaging makes note of being microwaveable is because you usually buy these kinds of foods at 7-Eleven, and the people at the register will often ask if you want it cooked then and there in case you're going on a long trip.

Apologies if someone already pointed out, but the soy product with the salivating kid is actually packaged stinky tofu. The package is in Chinese, and apparently it's from Hunan in China.

The fruit roll is Lavashak, a persian fruit snack. They can be made from lots of different fruits. And on the back it does say mixed fruit.

Okay ladies and gentleman let me explain:

That black sticky thing (the second item) is called lavashak and is a Persian "delight". They usually differ from fruity roll ups. A true lavashak should be sour and not sweet, unfortunately the Persian people have lost their mind and are actually liking the sweet ones. The sour one usually tastes pomegranate or sour plum.

That black fruit roll thing is made with dates and fig juice, that's why it's super sweet! My brother in law lived in the middle east for a few years, and told me what it was
