Using WATCO Wipe-On Poly

This is my first time using WATCO Wipe-On Polyurethane. I'm applying it to poplar wood with a blue paper shop towel by "Scott" towels. I prefer to use paper shop towels over cloth towels because I just throw them away and don't have to worry about washing finish out of a cloth rag.

*Some people say you have to be very careful throwing away oil soaked rags as they have been known to spontaneously cumbust. I put them in a metal trashcan with a lid.

This product is thicker than other brands I've used. The viscosity thick like honey or maple syrup.

Pros: Goes on nice and thick in one coat.

Cons: If you prefer several thin coats, you might prefer to water it down with mineral spirits or try a different brand.

Beautiful! I'm working on a guitar pedal board for my brother for Christmas made of Flame Cherry for northen Michigan. Im pretty good with brush on poly but with all the cutouts on the pedal board, wipe-on seemed like the best choice. And dry and hardening time are so much faster. Thanks for the vid. You do nice work!

How do you mix this poly since it says you’re not supposed to shake it?
