Love these videos since I say Hawkins present at Keplers on this book at the time "On Intelligence". More and more though I have a problem with this intelligence word. I think words fail us at this moment on this subject. There is no understanding of what it is. Definitely creating sensing capabilities based on biological models and studying the brain is the way to go, but the spark of what intelligence is? Does anyone even have a clue? Does human intelligence change too after it has to be guided.

There is a misconception I think that as soon as intelligence is manifested in a machine, if that can ever happen that it will suddenly know everything, and that every cycle and resourse will be 100% effective in creating a dominant and superior understanding of the world to humans. That is hot air being blown out by scam artists who want to get on the government dime because of a "brain gap" in my opinion.

the main issue with this is a simple one.. the brain and humans have free will... You cannot replicate that without dire consequences or even model it accurately. I have been a huge PALM fan, my first smartphone was a Prism with the phone attachment.

I love Donna and Jeff but I just don't see how you can take that portion out of the decision making matrix and have valid model. Correct me if I am wrong but that is a cornerstone of the way the brain works. If that is off the table it will have a cascading effect and render all decisions made to be moot. Perhaps this is a better conversation to be had in person
