A conversation with Jeff Hawkins and Subutai Ahmad.

Christy Maver, VP Marketing, sits down with Jeff Hawkins, Co-Founder, and Subutai Ahmad, VP Research, and asks them to reflect on the previous year while making predictions about the coming decade. Subutai shares the results of the effort he is leading to apply our neuroscience research to machine learning problems, and Jeff talks about continuing the neuroscience work and his upcoming book, which he spent most of 2019 writing.

Let me say again. Are encoders not the elephant in the room? How does an encoder relate to a topology? Or is it a simple function? Both these days but it is poorly understood.

I can't wait to read the new (e)book. And please go beyond the "fingers touch a cup" example, to something not involving touch or sight. For example, how'd your theory apply to auditory objects?

To Jeff's comment about not being late to the game... this reminds me of reading a Wikipedia article about the History of the Theory of Evolution... there has been steps before Darwin, even since Antiquity but it really takes time for people as a society to understand and focus on something "obvious". Maybe somebody should or has already studied this effect. Could electric vs fuel cars/transportation be a viable analogy?

Hey what you guys really need is good marketing. I think I can help with that. You did a good work simplyfing these concepts for the layman, but have you managed to actually change the traditional teaching methods in universities about neuroscience?

Jeff looks like a typical Californian liberal (I think he's a true liberal ) who thinks AGI is going to unite the world :) and united nations built this AGI and solve all the problem humanity faces. :) good luck .
but his work on the topic is really good, I think he's one of the few people who really understand whats really ticking inside.
