This is the whoosh bottle experiment. Alcohol is lit on fire and a combustion reaction takes place. Most people just light it once. If you light it multiple times some really interesting things happen that help us figure out how the reactant oxygen and alcohol interact with the product Carbon dioxide and water. The temperature changes enormously inside the bottle as energy is released which majorly alters the pressure. Let me know what you think is going on!

I remember teaching this to some friends back in hostel.

Sanitizer + plastic bottles. They were having fun... Abit.. too much fun. Got worried, told them to be careful.

This is also called a pulse jet. You can try one outside by drilling a 2mm hole in the center of a mason jar lid, filling with a millimeter of rubbing alcohol and swirling than igniting at the opening, you can do this about 2-3 times before emptying and refilling.

I did this tons of times when I was a teen, this guy doesn't mention that if you do it at home (you shouldn't) then at least use plastic bottles, plastic doesn't send shrapnel into your eyes quite like glass. Super cool video.

I did this one time many years ago when I was an unsupervised preteen, using an empty pop can and a bic lighter, I got third degree burns on my thumb, butane burns incredibly hot and fast.
