I have this same exact problem, was gonna go buy a $250 throttle body but was hoping I could find a cheaper solution. Gonna change mine Wednesday and see if it helps! Thanks man!!

Great video. Just FYI, that's not a burn out on the output sensor. Since they're magnetic, that's all the engine metal flakes it's picked up out of the oil, which then messes with the sensor's capability to sense your speed, which is the primary one that causes the vehicle not to shift gears. Many think the RPM's controls shifting, but the output sensor is the most important within that medley of sensor analysis when it comes to shifting to the next gear in an automatic transmission.

I had something similar happen to my Intrepid. It went into limp mode, though. The transmission solenoid went bad at 200, 000 miles. 84, 000 miles later, and I haven't had a single issue with it.

Thanks so much for this video. My 2008 dodge avenger had this same issue. I found both sensors at rockauto online and only paid about $12 for both. It only took about 15 minutes to replace and seems to have fixed the problem for me as well. Note: my output sensor wasnt burnt up like yours It was actually covered with metal fillings which I can only assume was preventing the computer from getting a good signal. Time to change the tangy fluid and hope this car lasts a little longer since the engine and transmission are still running great 152, 000 on the odm. Thanks again

Was this problem intermittent before it went out completely? I am having pretty much the same trouble, but mine sets the P06DD (low oil pressure code) every time it happens. I can get it to shift into 6th gear if I turn the engine off while the van is rolling, put the transmission in neutral, then start the engine again while still rolling down the highway and it will then shift into 6th gear again. It does this when it's cold outside and when I am towing a heavy load.

After the replacement be sure to reset Computer. I do this by disconnect negative cable to battery for 30 min.

My avenger goes 4500 rpm at 50 mph I’m trying to find the pressure sensor transducer but there is nothing on how to change it or where it’s at

Hi there,
I have same problem with my Dodge Ram 3500 2016. Would my truck would have same speed sensor?

The output sensor costs more than the input sensor because it's the one that goes out the most.

Nice video, did you get an error code for this problem? Do you have the 62te transmission?

Just fix this problem in a 03 Dodge Dakota. Disconnect the harness underneath driver side and plug it back in everything went back to normal
