Please comment on which one you think is which and why.

This blind test features Brian playing both the Fender 68 Deluxe Reverb and the Fender Mustang III guitar amplifiers. The Mustang III is a modelling amp and we've tried to get it to sound as close to the Deluxe as possible.

Just bought a mustang 4 because of great content like this. I really hope you still have those patches available. Content like this stays relevant for a long time.

All the time I was loving A and thinking "I would so love that to be the Mustang... but I bet it isn't"... and then it was! 😊😊😊😊

I got a mustang 3 from a pawn shop for 250 in perfect condition. I’m so happy with it. Such a good amp with so many different amp emulators. All very quality sounding.

I love vintage tube amps but I wasn't shocked to find out "A" was the Mustang. Ive been gigging with a Mustang for three years and I have tweaked mine to make it a little darker sounding and swapped the speaker to one of my personal favorites. It ROCKS and most guitarist that hear it are stunned its a Mustang. Fender has loaded the sound into this amp so If it doesn't sound good to you then you may need help tweaking it is all I can say....Good Luck

A - Mustang
B - Deluxe

Personally, I prefer the tone of A

Mustang 3 v2 bought today and I had a smile on my face the whole time playing my guitar.

Fender did a great job with these amps and the price second hand is shockingly low.

I am kind of surprised "a" was the mustang because I think the tone articulates sound better and more bright.

My gut feeling is that A is the Mustang... seems a bit crisper than the 68. Let's see if I really know what the Hell I'm talking about...

And I do like both of them... and am looking forward to Mustang Mondays since I just picked up a Mustang III V.2 (thanks to you, Shane!)

It was clear to me B had a slight fuzz behind the tone.
A was so sharp and beautiful it's a testament to why I own one. Great comparison video thanks. .Rock on everyone

Recording is a completely different beast and I choose A for recording, however, if you're live in a band and the tubes warm up, the ambiance is unmatched.

I know nothing, but I have been playing a Squire classic vibe telle through a mustang II an hour or so a night for a three months. I have played for 40 years and I have to say, I don't play with all the options, BUT this combination has taken me way way way above where I was as a guitarist. Please forget what you think you knew (I had to) I can make this  budget package sing, like I never thought I could

I knew B was the tube amp soon as I heard it. You can't beat that warm sound that a tube amp has.

always use the '57 Deluxe (oldies), '65 Deluxe (country), '70s British (modern pop country), '80s British (classic rock), American 90s (modern hard rock), Metal 2000 (halen and metal) models on the mustang III..absolutely amazing sounding amps...better than the originals. The effects are top notch. I have the V1..is the V2 really worth the upgrade?

I have always had ss amps and have been wanting to get a tube. Was about to pull the trigger on an $800 fender and found these videos. Tried it in store as a side by side and got the sound close enough (low volume) to purchase. Got home and downloaded some of the intheblues sounds and tweaked a little - (sag down bias up really helps)
Last night went to a friends house who has a princeton from the 70's and got to crank it up. Adjusted sound & did a blind test of our own- he picked the mustang as the princeton and has had this amp for 30-40 years.
I love the mustang! Glad I found it before getting the tube.

Okay. Enough already. It's been 8 years and this video has been viewed a quarter of a million times. Are you going to tell us which is which?

I really liked A, to me it was clearer and would cut through in a mix. B was darker and had more break-up. I'm thinking A is the Mustang. Both sounded great though.

Both are fantastic, A sounds more like a sound ready to add to a mix… B has a secret power though, cleaned up a touch with post production… it would drive and ride notes perfectly. There is no doubt in my mind A is the Mustang. Mustang amps are fantastic. I have one & absolutely love it. The analog amps might require a little more than plug & play… but they sing so perfectly too. No bad choice between them
