The New Normal was such a good show because they didn’t make a big deal out of affection, and the relationship that Bryan and David had was completely trusting and loving and just flat out healthy. I wish this show had more seasons.

The part about showing gay realtionaships/affection realistically was so accurate. I've never watched a show with so much same-sex PDA that didn't make a big deal about it or have "special" episodes like Andrew Rannells said. I love this show and wish it was never canceled. As a lesbian, it really inspired me and taught me to not be afraid of showing my affection for members of the same sex.

It's two people who love each other and they are having a baby together who they love and cherish. Lots of laughs, tears and hugs along the way. I loved it! Hope you do too.

God, this was such a great show. Cannot explain how much I love how it was portrayed. A lot of people have been saying that the show "suffered from one-dimensional characters" and I think that's simply not true (and that's coming from an author). I think the characters were well thought out enough to be real people (especially Bryan, he's my favourite). The characters may have been played off of stereotypes but honestly I think the characters played off each other really well and they were realistic and relatable. Especially Bryan and Shania. Damnit, those two are like my clones. But I love the show, love the cast (isn't it ironic that my favourite character was played by Andrew Rannells, my favourite actor?) and I love the story.

But tbh I do find it kind of pathetic that I cried at a fictional wedding, especially because I've never cried at a wedding before. Even at my favourite cousin's wedding (who is coincidentally also named Bryan.)

I really liked the show and even the characters but the dialogue was atrocious. So many cliches, on-the-nose jokes and preaching to the converted.
Ryan Murphy's style is balancing snark with after-school-special lessons but sometimes the pendulum can swing too far in one direction.

Personally, I didn't like the show. I got really disappointed because the pilot I loved it very much. and I don't really think that the views lowered because of sexuality, don't get me wrong, all the actors in that show, and this is something that rarely happens, were great, I loved all of them no exceptions, but the characters were too idealistically dealing with their mistakes and always trying to directly and loudly prove a point or in an annoying indirect way enforce an opinion which makes it difficult to relate to them. I really hope that this show takes another chance and become better. I loved how David was a masculine gay, unlike other shows which shows the same stereotypical gay character.
