Wow, just straight out front with a lie.

Your 401k money doesn't just sit there deflating.

There’s a reason the IRS limits how much you can put into each year. It’s a fantastic deal.

Don’t a lot of companies match 401K contributions. Make the max contribution that they’ll match. Deduct it from your taxable income and make 100% return.

Thanks for your insight. This 2023 is full of great accomplishments, the only thing we need to do is start taking steps to achieving our different goals. I tried real estate last year, it didn't go as planned. I want to start all over and also begin my retirement, but this time I won't go in all by myself. I just want to increase my income source. You should do same just to be financially safe.

So let’s not talk about 401k match or Roth…

Except a 401(k) allows you to put in money tax-free, grow tax free, and then is only taxed when you withdraw in retirement. And if your employer will match your contribution, then you're stupid to not be putting money into a 401(k). The employer match is a 100% return on investment.

Ahh yes because real estate has been so stable over the last 20 years

A million dollars in a 401K taking out 4% a year will be an effective tax rate of less than 10% not 25% for people without other income like pensions

Invest in a Roth 401k, most companies offer it next to traditional if you don’t want taxes later

Don’t invest in your 401k if your company doesn’t offer any matching.

There, fixed it for you.

25% tax?? Bruh wut? You’ll be making so much less money when you’re not working making your effective tax rate way lower than that. 401ks track inflation, so nah. You’re good. 401ks are excellent.. it probably shouldn’t be the only investment you have if anything.

totally incorrect. 401k allows compound tax deferral growth.

I used 401k to get the match, then increased it every time I got a raise. I also saved any spare money on the side.Drove used cars lived below my means, bought a couple of modest rentals and retired at 56. I lived on savings and rental income, and a few years fell into the "poverty bracket" for taxes purposes.. I converted to 401k to roth during the "low income" years. Reached FRA this year and started SS . 95% of my funds are now in The key to success is keep your butt out of debt and know the difference between wants and needs.

I guess you’re investing in cash inside your 401K.

This is pure He's making the assumption that your 401k stays stagnant. Mine is invested in stocks that yield 8% dividends and CDs that are yielding 4%. Of course no one should take advice from a YouTube video anyway.

150% match up to 8% on my 401k is still the way to go

garyhutton

Yeah you should probably still invest in your 401k to save on taxes each year. Then when you’re in retirement not making as much $ you pull it out as your income. It’s not a scam. Real estate is great but it’s a lot of work and why put all your eggs in 1 basket?
