Why the Jedi Council Purposely IGNORED Anakin's Feelings for Padmé - Star Wars Explained

In Star Wars we all know how Anakin Skywalker was obsessed with Padme. This was against the Jedi code and infringed on his Jedi philosophy of 'no attachments'. However, the council knew it, Obi-Wan Kenobi knew it, Mace Windu knew it, and of course Yoda as well. So why did they let it all unfold?
The answer is from the novels and the film itself, so let me know what your thoughts are on this. Should the Jedi Council have let Anakin proceed? What if the Jedi Council DIDN'T Ignore Anakin's Feelings for Padme? Would Palpatine have taken him a his Sith apprentice early?

Would Anakin still lose to the high ground if the Council confronted him?

I personally see Mace as this type of strict father figure who treats you like garbage, but still loves you deep within.

I think Mace wasn't secretly hoping Anakin would fail but I do think he secretly hoped - hoped that Anakin would be able to become the boy of prophecy as much as everyone else. To become the boy of prophecy, Anakin had to pass this test and Mace probably knew it. Windu may have treated Anakin harshly but I had always thought of it as a strict coach that sees your potential.

To be honest? This right here is possibly why Mace became such a hardass over anakin. He saw that he had given Anakin a chance to prove himself and extended trust and then had that broken in a way that's difficult to undo.

I believe if Anakin was expelled or left the Jedi temple for Padme, Obi-Wan would exile himself from the Jedi temple to go with Anakin. not only because of his brotherly bond with Anakin, but also because of his vow to his master Qui-Gon to train him to become a Jedi. I say this because there is a comic (which is canon) where a young Anakin temporarily left the Jedi temple to do some soul searching. Obi-wan then spoke to Yoda about his worries to complete his training and keep his promise to his master's dying wish. when Yoda asked if Anakin decided to leave the order, Obi-Wan responded with something like exiling himself to be with Anakin.also, if Obi-Wan went with Anakin in exile, would it be more difficult for Palpatine to turn Anakin to the dark side? especially since they would be living with Padme on Naboo, somewhere where nobody would find them (as stated by Padme in RotS)?

its because the council is aware that even if they had trained anakin from birth like other padawans, these feelings still exist. Obi-Wan talks with Anakin in the clone wars about the Jedi and emotions like love. "They aren't unnatural for a jedi, ". Obi Wan feels love for Satine, and a familial love for Anakin. In legends Ki-Adi Mundi was allowed to have a family because his species has trouble with birth rates. Master and Apprentices most likely love each other as family.

Its also possible that the council had seen that if Anakin turned to the dark side that it would be love that would return him to the light.

Hm...Mace surely was setting him up for failure, I mean we are talking about the person who was lobbying for not granting Anakin the rank of master (despite the fact that he had trained a student (who was ready for the trials but wasn't allowed to face them because she left!), a student that the council abandoned to the hounds (politicians!) in trial that was a FARCE and despite the fact that they allowed him on the council (a place he had earned, he was one of their most talented leaders and only a very few jedi could actually fight Anakin and hope to survive! Yoda, Windu and Obi-Wan - most others would lose to Anakin's powerful onslaught!) with the excuse that "you are too close to the chancellor", despite the fact that they themselves were too close to the republic! They had lost their indepence and were puppets Palpatine played for fools, something he couldn't have done with older incarnations of the order, which is exactly why the Sith played the long game (they manipulated the galaxy from behind the scenes for over a 1000 years in order to be able to claim chancellorship and also have the Jedi set up to be destroyed etc. etc.)

Mace Windu was a proud but also jealous jedi master who let his arrogance blind him, just like Yoda etc.! Not one of them had an original thought, too blinded by their own indoctrination into the order at a young age (which was the greatest flaw of the old jedi order, their indoctrination of emotionally unstable children who never learned how to deal with their emotions in a stable family environment - no wounder that they couldn't tame those emotions and were easy prey for the dark side! Frankly it was exactly the jedi who had forbidden connections (like Obi-Wan with Duchess Satine!) and learned to deal with those emotions who were the least likely to fall to the dark side (or return from it if they did fall!))

IDK - you know in the RotS novelization Obi Wan says he always knew and never mentioned it for their sake, as she made him so happy. Of course this could've come after the Mace convo and Obi Wan just accepted it over time. But seeing that he clearly failed this trial, Obi Wan knew the Jedi Order knew - perhaps they were too stubborn to admit it and didn't want to see, or the plot armor of being blinded by the dark side. I think Anakin would've left the order given an ultimatum. His love for Padme' was all inclusive. That would've been interesting to see. I would love to see a DS Anakin reaching his full potential, having learned how to lead an empire from Sidious, being more studious and less impetuous, and then killing Sidious, cuz no doubt he would've been able to once he was stronger and in control of the DS.
