low headroom garage door opener

I took anothers solution a tweeked it for for my situation

Wow this is awesome I’ve been wondering how I could put a garage door opener on my low profile garage since I didn’t have enough room over the spring. You rock thanks so much!

Realistically, with that door setup, you don’t need the curved piece of arm, with the bracket on the door attached to the top like that. Just using the straight arm would give you the headroom that you lose having the curved arm on there, as it would pick the whole long-arm up higher. If it clears your car fine, and isn’t a headbanger for you, then you’re good with it how it is, but you’ve got a bit more wiggle room if you need it.

Can it be forced open easily if someone tried to break in? Just curious because that angle iron looks very flexible

Hey, are ur iron angle and opener rail in same line or u installed the opener out of the line of angle as done by the guy in original vedio?

I would've just put a side wall mount jackshaft but that works to

Id recommend you put another bolt in the curved/ j arm
