My 22 year old son walked out of a local grocery store the other day and ran into a man and his two children. The man asked him if he could buy some food for them to eat. My son took them into the grocery store and, despite being 22 and not having much money, told the man to get what he needed. When the man picked out a sack of potatoes as his first item, and then got nothing but staple food after that, my son wept and told him he can get whatever he or his children wants. The man refused to take advantage of that and only spent $50 on food.

I took care of a girl whose parents were not there, she was neglected, but where we lived I'd have her over, feed her, hug her, just tell her how important she was. Years later, she reached out to me on Facebook, told me how important I was in her life, and shared all the things my family made for her when she left to move in with her other grandma states away. She held on to them, and told me she loved me. That touched my heart. I have always wondered what happened to her, and having her back in my life, even if it is not in person, but through phone and emails I feel blessed many times over.

3 years ago I met a single mother in poverty with a life long illness, with no money to cure herself, I payed all her medical bills, to this day, I still support her when she needs it.

I saw a homeless man. I went up to him asked him does he need anything. He said no. And, every time I walked passed him we said hello. I mean we weren't friendly but he saw I cared. Love these stories so much. I'm a kind person and it helps to see the stories because it gives me hope for humanity.

I met a destitute old guy on the street who asked me not for money but groceries for him and his bedridden wife. So I brought him to the grocers and paid a hundred bucks for his stuff, mostly staples and non sugary stuff for diabetics. Before he left I pressed another hundred in his hands, which he refused politely with thanks. As he turned away I managed to slip the cash in his shopping bag unnoticed. Have a nice day sir, whoever you are, and take care of your wife.

It proves that there is still hope left in humanity. A kind gesture can go a long ways. I am constantly helping those in need. A homeless lady at Jubitz truck stop in Portland OR came up to my truck while I was waiting for a truck wash asking for a little change. At first I told her No that I didn’t have it. As I saw her digging in trash cans to get cans n bottles, I immediately grabbed a few dollars out of my wallet and went to her and said “ma’am, I can’t lie like that, it is not right”, and I gave her the money. She said thank you and god bless. I told her wish her well.
