For more help with guitar, one-on-one style video lessons, check out the Unstoppable Guitar System for only $1, full details here:

Since I'm so busy making new video tutorial lessons all the time and teaching guitar, I probably won't have time to answer individual questions regarding guitar. My other videos cover beginner, advanced and intermediate levels. I teach rock, blues, country and just about any other style on electric or acoustic. If you can't find your answer from the resources at the website above, keep digging into my vids, and I'm sure you will find your answer. Keep practicing!!!

You said it. This is 100% true. I couldn't even play Heart and Soul when I was 15. But after I discovered a YouTube video of how to play Clocks which sparked my interest, I learned Maple Leaf Rag 3 months into my piano lessons.

Keep up the great work man. God bless.

Great! That's very accurate advice Erich. Being a student of blues harmonica for years and now guitar, i realise how demoralising it is to have these gifted musicians as our idols but you are so correct to emphasize how practice is be all end all and the miracle appears. All you need is disire and passion and practise and miracle i'm a gifted musician. Thanks

good point... a lot of people, whether it be instruments of anything else, forget what it means to be a rookie.. we all been their at one point, people may have forgotten but everyone starts/started at the bottom...so dont let that discourage you

Thanks for putting this out there, as a begginer guitarist it can seem like a very steep slope indeed.

Great video and really important to hear for every beginner at guitar who feels like they aren't ever going to amount to anything. Like anything in life, there is a tipping point where consistent practice will surpass any initial lead that innate ability might give a person.

On my channel I have my sleight of hand card tricks and I only got that good from daily practice over years. That is what it took to get that way, I did not come sliding out of mom with a deck in my hand. Now for the past almost 90 days I have applied that same mentality to the guitar. I know in another year, with this handy dandy ebook I just purchased ;-), I will accomplish my goal of playing a decent guitar.

What he said is 100% true, you practice whatever you want to do, and you get more and more talented doing it.

Great video - very true.

I would add as a footnote to this that practice is not something that takes a few minutes or hours. It's taken me months to learn one solo, and I'm still not there yet.

Be patient and then you may reap the rewards of your labour!

Thank you bro that was very motivating :) You rule! I felt like that a lot when I heard other guys play even if they just started and played nothing special

definately got to agree. I've only been learning for a few weeks and at first i could not get the hang of different strumming rhythms. Today i realised i'm really starting to get a hold of it! through practice practice!!

yeah your right!!! even if your voice is so good it will not make any sense if the way you portray yourself is not cool... i think the only deference between those who has it is that they have the passion and opportunity to do so... getting ourselves always excited to practice makes a lot of difference...

hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard

I agree with you about 80%, onle because I think it takes "TALENT" to write the kind of music the hendrix, SRV, slash (one of my fav.), neil young, randy rhodes, and Jeff beck. I just think anyone can copy or "cover" somebody else's song or style, but it takes talent to write something that millions of people will enjoy. Just my thought, love the lessons, thanks!

i learnt by myself quitar, and one teacher i had in school {was "master" at quita, over 20years of work} he told me that i have the most flexible fingers he had ever seen.

Sage, my guitar teacher told me the exact same thing when I first started taking lessons, and it couldn't be more true. I'd taught myself for a few months, and was convinced I just sucked at guitar. When I went to get lessons, I swore I would practice every single day, and once you make that commitment to learning, it doesn't get long to get good. Its all about how dedicated you are to learn, and learn at your own pace!

To Be honest with hard practice comes great talent. Everyone has the potential to do whatever they what. They just need to understand with hard work comes great talent in a upcoming musician or whatever you want to do....

I've personally seen people who almost naturally fell-into the ability to sing and play an instrument (at a given level) at the same time, while I had IMMENSE difficulty mastering this. insert ad nauseum, innumerable examples where someone progresses or advances FAR faster than most other people, given comparable amounts of time and practice.
