As someone who is colourblind, any crayon brand that doesn't label their crayons is a no from me

Those creatology crayons are real outliers; vibrant colors, low dust, low smearing, and one of the cheapest in price. I'd say for a kid's crayon (or if you're into adult coloring books), they're probably your best option.

I think most crayons arent too soft considering they're marketed towards children who press a lot, so they would probably break under so much pressure if they were softer.

As a young child I was always given crayola, but was jealous of the kids with cheaper brands like play day and rose art because they had that really waxy transparent feel… they colored smoother, and didn’t make sound when you colored. I remember this one girl gave me one of her cheap red crayons and I cherished that thing. 🤣 I had very specific taste in pencils too….

I didn’t even know there were these many brands of crayons out there 😅

Crayola vs RoseArt was where I first learned about “brand name” vs “knock off” … I was so jealous of the Crayola kids lmao

The Stockmar crayon blocks are actually not really for artists. They are used in kindergartens and schools a lot, especially in more alternative forms of those (like Montessori nusery school or Waldorf school). The block shape makes it especially easy for smaller children to grab them. The base is made from beeswax and all art supplies by Stockmar are, to my knowledge, non-toxic and ecologically friendly :) In Germany you can get the set of 8 blocks for about 9, 50 $.

I’m honestly surprised that “crayon” isn’t one of those brand specific names like “Saran wrap” or “Kleenex” cause it just gives those vibes

The Honey Sticks are meant for toddlers. They're easy to grip and safe to eat. But don't eat them. But you could.

I think this could be a good resource for parents buying their kids art supplies. I grew up poor, so we couldn’t afford Crayola, but I always got the crappy crayons like the dollar store ones, and was frustrated that the colors were so light. Nice to know there are cheap options that still color well.

With all your crayon vids, you're going to have the companies rethink their formula to decrease their dust and adjust the color accuracy for better representation. Similar to how Jazza's marker and liner videos had their makers redo some of their manufacturing like Spectrum Noir did for their alcohol marker's brush nib. Always nice to see your enthusiasm on making art with what some might think as "kid's supplies" or "cheap supplies" as with several other art content creators have done. I need to get my watercolors and marker back out and make some traditional pieces. I've haven't touched them in a few months.

Crayons are incredibly fun to draw with. The fact that they're reasonably cheap as a whole make up for a great art supply

The stockmar crayons in block form are toddler crayons for me 😅 we had the stick form in primary school. It was so fun to put down coloured pencil rainbows layer a black crayon on top and then use the tool to scratch our messages or art. (I do think they are much cheaper in Germany though)

Expensive crayon brands with little color payout should be ashamed of themselves

creatology has a wind-up crayon pack as well thats just Lovely to draw with! Gonna miss the year of the crayon, really helped me get motivated by playin’ around with a super nostalgic medium :’) you should try other unusual supplies!! personally i LOVE coloring a piece with highlighters, so bright and fluorescent and they always layer in really interesting ways!

Maped is a massive brand in Europe ! They specialize in school supplies. Here in France, back when I was a kid, they branded as the fun and ingenious brand making cool and colorfull supplies. If you had Maped stuff in primary school, everybody thought you were the coolest (or rich). However, french people don't pronounce it the english way, they say "mapèd" or "mapaid"

As a youngster, I always loved using the CraZArt crayons. I went to a daycare center before and after school, and I guess they just bought the cheapest they could find. Regardless, I loved them because in the larger packs you'd get these wildly fun and vibrant colors, and it was a blast to use them all in one drawing. My parents always bought Crayola though, and I liked those too I guess.

Crayola and Creatology are the clear winners in my book. Creatology is the cheaper option, but what makes crayola stand out to me is the insane shade range. There's hundreds of different crayola colors. I have glitter crayola, confetti crayola, neon, metalic, etc. I also have a set of crayola called "colors of the world" which is specifically meant for being able to color all different skin tones ❤️
