You don’t have to be caught committing a crime to start the crimson fleet quest line. You can start the UC vanguard quest chain and they’ll give you a mission to infiltrate the pirates. Whether you stay loyal to UC or not is up to you

The Den in the Wolf system has a Trade Authority vendor without a contraband scan, sell your contraband there!

There needs to be a way to move items from your companion to your ship cargo directly.

Dan you can reach your ship from your inventory even if you are fairly far away from it sometimes even from inside other load zones like buildings on planets, it makes inventory management easy you can upgrade your starter ship cargo space in the ship builder to 7-900 pretty early on --> go to the ship section in the menus there you can open ship inventory and switch to show your inventory you can remotely add stuff from there

At least we know where the Andromeda characters found work...

Side tip that also helps with early game ammo issues. "Aiming" with the mining cutter increases its fire rate substantially allowing it to mine faster and have a decent dps.

other tips is that loot from enemies are rolled on death, so if you save just before that elite/boss dies you can save scum the loot tables. this also seems to apply to the mantis armour mannakin, save before you interact and you can save scum it affixes

I recommend the dream home trait!

You need eventually pay the 125k but no rush you pay 500 to enter the home (rent) once a week or when you need enter no penalty and it doesnt add up

But it gives you your own homestead fully customizable inside.. stick storage, displays all work benches defo a long term goal

I had the money to pay it off before i checked it out due to exploring and cargo hauling!

"Next to the pilot seat" - was wondering where the storage was on the ship

So far my main complaint is the lack of proper combat AI. NPCs are very very basic, often not reacting to getting shot or taking tactical cover, Civilians dont react to anything at all unless you shoot them in the face and even then they run away as if you jumped out of a bush and said BOO!

The chameleon effect is super helpful, play long enough youll find a spare helmet with the perk

SECURITY - The question is: do you really need to crack the expert and master locks?
Is there super OP gear behind these doors? Is it neccessary to pick expert and master locks to get special outcomes on quests?
If the expert and master locks don't gatekeep things that are absolutely neccessary, then there is no reason to waste so much time and energy on these locks.
Yeah, when you open them so far it seems that, at most, its a random legendary item(that you probably wont use) and is not all that much of anything(except really, really early in the game; Levels 1-15). The last thing I need is more stuff to carry and sell. The amount of money you get for the amount of effort needed to beat Expert and Master locks is just a bad deal.
My question is about unique or legendary gear(that is just not hit-or-miss random legendaries), or doors that prevent you from getting a better quest outcome unless you can crack it.
Do the Expert Lock and Master Lock fiends think they have actually found something that makes all that time and sweat actually worth it?
Summary: I think I don't need Security 3&4, and I plan to skip most Expert locks(unless something gives me that 'itch').

Build a simple outpost, make containers, the large ones hold about 150m, if you're into hoarding everything,

Ikechukwu Prince Amadi voices Commander Ikande aboard the UC Vigilance, I keep expecting him to tell me that in his cycle, he would throw the primitives out the airlock

The game has buckets when you first meet your ship on the mining planet when you start the game, but they are too small compared to the heads of the npcs

for rp, I guess you could use the heroworship to murder the adoring fan in broad daylight in order to get arrested to start the crimson fleet

The Red Mile bartender will also buy contraband from you. It's not just the trade authority!
