I've been taking lithium orotate for many years in low nutritional level doses. There's so much research that doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves, including being able to slow down the shortening of telomeres.

It depends on the form as lithium carbonate for bi polar causes some people to end up on dialysis so it’s dose dependant

I tried lithium orotate 5 mg daily, off and on and it resulted in obvious weight gain. I changed nothing else in my lifestyle, worked out and ate reasonably well. I had heard about the positive effects of it, but for me it was a trade off I wasn’t willing to make. I have a hard time as it is keeping weight off.
Maybe if I try micro dosing I won’t have the weight gain side effect.

I have read that lithium helps get vitamin B12 into the cells. I have very high B12 in blood tests but was chronically low energy, so I reasoned it was there but may not be getting utilized so I looked into what might help. My other hypothesis was that it was the cyanocobalamin I used to take that was gumming up the works. Not sure, but I now take Adenosylcobalamin and lithium and feel much better.

I recall reading that OTC lithium orotate can be hard on the kidneys. Prescription lithium may avoid this problem?

I took lithium Orotate for longevity. The substance decreased my 'night thinking' and kind had prolonged relaxing reset on my personality. However, Lithium decrease testosterone, and as I noticed my libido and interes was diminished for like 2 months.. It is kind of good. and scary

Well I take 2.5 mg of lithium orotate every day. Probably take 200 and something pills of antiaging supplement every day. Been researching antiaging supplements brain supplements for over 30 years. Supposedly I don't know how this could be true but my kidney function is 105%. Love your program man. You're one extremely intelligent individual.

There is a scientific study on this that people with BD who were on lithium treatment long term did have longer telomeres, but not all of them. Only the people whose dna had propensity to respond to lithium in that way. I've been taking lithium since I was 22, I am 33 now, and I look almost 10 years younger, so i dont know, maybe it worked for me... lol

Nuts, Cereals, Fish, Vegetables: Lithium is long associated with better mental health, is it not just being "normal"?
