So have you ever wondered why Imu and The Gorosei never hunted down gold Roger, before he became the pirate king?.. like we know they had the means to do so, given that ever sense luffy went gear 5 back in wano, they haven’t stopped riding his ass trying to kill him.. They’ve even gone so far as to attack Egghead personally, in hopes of taking both his head and fruit home to Imu sama.. They are incredibly strong and Luffy himself even stated that they are impossible to defeat, so stopping some random fruitless pirate like Roger from starting the era of piracy should’ve been easy for them right.. Well In my opinion the reason they didn’t hunt him is simply because they never saw him as nothing more then some random Pirate, because before him, there had not only never been a pirate king, but there had also never been someone since the void century to reach the final island, not to mention they had no way of knowing, his death would inspire countless people to set sail and begin this era of piracy.

I think the gorosei and imu constantly having their own arrogance bite them in the ass is pretty poetic and there are multiple examples of this on egghead alone

Think about it this way, Imu and the Gorosei are literaly inmortal, they dont care about some random pirate who is eventualy going to die after a couple decades at most they literaly have all the time in the world to just wait it out

Likely same reason why they didnt just destroy big mom and Kaido they are finite beings that will eventualy die like everyone else while they endure the centuries, they just didnt expect that Roger was going to kickstart the era of piracy with literaly his final words
