I’m a new angler and Jordan has no idea but he’s taught me literally everything I know about fishing. I’m way more confident and FAR more addicted than I was before finding this channel. Thank you for hooking me!!

You can't get any more old school than that. This is the simplest setup for a lot of fishes but so effective

I've been fishing for almost 55 years and never thought to wrap my line around the bobber clasps a few times! I think of my dad and grandpa every time I grab worm for bait. :-)

Very good clear demonstration! So many other posters' videos are titled "How to Catch Trout" and then we see quick cuts of them just reeling in fish after fish with no demo on rigging, no advice, etc. Thank you!

Man your vid is almost a yr old and still one of the most clear cut but not watered down tutorials. Informative without being overbearing nice balance for an intro vid. Thanks for the quality content! Looking forward to watching more SUB’D

People including me make fishing seem so technical and complicated at times and it certainly can be. Video just reminded me that all you really need to get by is what u started with: a bobber and worm

10lb. mainline for stocked trout is overkill. 4-6lb will do the job just fine and increases the fun factor. Glad to see you guys switching gears a bit!

We’re happy with the bobbers. Haven’t fished in years, and worked as well as I remember years ago catching fish.

Sea-run cutthroat fishing in coastal streams with small spinners, spoons, or flies. I'm just getting my nephew into fishing and we had a blast doing this. Keep the videos coming. It is nice to see our northwest fisheries well represented on Youtube.

Glad I found your video! Finally a video that teaches basic live bait pole setup. I've been trying to find a video like this for a couple of days and most of them were using fishing lingo that I never heard of. Mostly for pros. I'm not pro by no means at all. As of matter of fact, I haven't been fishing in about 3 years because of frustration of not catching fish. I actually didn't know that you had to tie both ends of the bobber...LOL. You get a like from me on this one!

Definately old school. The bobbers I use have changed, but the general rig is the same. Round bouy bobbers gave way to more streamlined floats by Aero or Thill, downsized versions of those I use when steelheading. The tall, thin floats or quill style floats give less resistance to the fish and better bite detection for light biters. But I still use small shot to balance the float, and either a micro jig, a fly, or a worm (usually soft plastic these days) - and that Celilo is a great inexpensive rod. I have owned a bunch of them over the years. My son broke my last one. My favorite is the 7'6" light power for 4-10lb line. I paired mine with a Shimano Sienna reel and 4lb Trilene most of the time.
