A Little Princess is a children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, which tells the story of a privileged young girl named Sara Crewe, who is sent to London by her father Captain Crewe, to attend Miss Minchin's school. At first, she is treated by everyone as if she is truly a princess before but the disaster strikes and she is thrown into poverty.

This classic fiction has 19 chapters and 324 pages. It is suitable for any age particularly grade 3-7 students and teaches the audience resilience and kindness.

Sarah’s miserable life begins as she has to stay in the attic and run errands like a maid or help the other kids with their homework. She is going through a dark period in her life, trying to cope with her father’s death and her new situation. Although she feels isolated and excluded, Sarah works hard and does her studies at night in the deserted classrooms. While Becky is the one who always checks on Sarah and lives on the other side of the wall, it seems like Ermengarde is avoiding Sarah. But as soon as they talk about it, Sarah realises that she has been misjudging her so the misunderstanding gets resolved and the two friends reconcile. In the end, Ermengarde asks Sarah if she could visit her at the attic once in a while and listen to the stories she makes up and Sarah happily accepts.
