the connector block that is detachable is for safe .meaning if someone were passed and trip on the USB cord, the block will just dissconnect without pulling your console or the wheel down resulting in damages and also to extend the cable. they used to have it on the old xbox's controllers .

13:44 it’s like that because if you trip on the cable it is designed to come apart to stop you from tripping or potentially damaging your console pc or driving gear similar to the wired Xbox 360 controller
