How I built a chicken coop in 48 hours to move my flock to the new house before a severe cold front hits Texas. The coop needed to be mobile, have an attached run, and be as user friendly as possible.

I think hatching your own chickens is a great idea. Especially for the kiddos ❤ plus the added bonus..you can harvest any of the roosters for the freezer and just keep the ladies to lay. Good luck

Either you have an aerator or a spring. Check the breaker box for something labeled pond or aerator

Get yourself a Farm Innovators Heated Chicken Base to keep poultry water fountain from freezing. Just run an extension cord out to it. Most days in Texas you won't need it, but just for the harsh times. Not hot enough to burn the birds. Check them out.

Great coop design. 2 suggestions lay the 2x4 roost flat so they are walking on the 4” part, it’s better for their feet. Make sure your heat lamp isnt hot enough to set your coop on fire
