The comments really just shows how sometimes people have such little understanding of subtext and that a piece of fiction can express a lot of meaning without having spoonfed the thing for you. Of course, you couldn't show full on rape in a shows like Teen Titans, no matter how mature it was for a kids show. So they rely on implications to express these type of topics.

In this case, there is a lot that communicates the idea of the predatory nature of this scene. Not just that he attacks her while rips her clothes off and leaving her vulnerable but of the context this is taking place. This is an episode in which Raven become older for bigger responsibilities and expresses her potential to get in the adult world. And Slade feels this like the moment he gets to exploit her and expose her. That her body only exists for the use of causing destruction and chaos (and subtextually, to be abused by a person of much more advanced age.) And Slade himself in the comics with the Teen Titans literally sleeps with a Terra, who was still a kid then.

Tbh Slade was targeting teens from the beginning. Robin, Terra, then Raven. If he had gone after Starfire we would've gotten Alien vs Predator

Not to mention the act of literally and forcibly aging her body, her dad wasn't known for patience or empathy, an alien monster in the worst sense.

Let's not forget Trigon has a habit of going through galaxies impregnating women to have his children for the purpose of world domination. That's how it happened with Raven's mother. She was safrificed so Trigon wouldn't destroy the planet. This episode reminded me of that situation and how essentially he was proving to Raven he could do the same to her too. Which is why he got Slade to not only harass her physically but to constantly berate her via the removing of her clothing. Raven always wore her cape as a way to "shield" herself whether it represented mentally, emotionally or physically. Once Trigon had Slade to remove that cape she was vulnerable completely and was unable to fight back properly. It would make sense for Trigon to send Slade to S.A Raven just to prove a point. That's why Raven turned into a child after the invasion. She felt defenseless and was scared. Robin finding her and giving her that hug was important for that reason

Rewatching it as an adult, I definitely could see the extremely predatory tone Slade is depicted in this episode! And it used to confuse me when, at the end of the episode, Robin says to Raven:
“You said something bad was supposed to happen, I guess it did. I’m sorry I couldn’t stop it. […] But for now, you’re safe. You are here with friends, it’s over.”
I didn’t understand why he was talking like he saw and knew what happened to her and reassured her that it was over. Cuz he wasn’t there when “it” happened. But if you caught your friend unconscious, falling off a building, almost naked, what would you assume happened?

He's canonically a predator. Marries or dates Terra when she's 16 in the comics

it is in character for him, considering other situations

Slade really pulled a "I'm your father's friend" card 💀

People, y'all, it is IN THE SUBTEXT.

He rips off her clothes while chasing her AGAINST her will.

He causes horrible and painful scars to appear on her.

It's SA metaphor

I remember the episodes like 'Sladed' and also 'Jinxed'. Man i remember those episodes, they were exotically dark...

He did have an unusual obsession over Robin, so I believe it

I gotta tell you I was 12 when this aired and already a CSA survivor, and I didn't even realize it was meant to be subtext. Like it just seemed like a pretty clear stand in for SA, and that was even before I learned what Slade did to Terra in the comics.

his predatory and manipulative behavior toward children is a well-established character trait and is a direct foil to batman.

you can also tell what they meant as the fight went on. raven got weaker and weaker when in the beginning she fought back, hard. shows how predators break down their victims into absolutely nothing. how he held her arms in one scene as she hung her head in defeat. then, when she became a child again, context for dissociating and how victims deal with trauma.

The way he said “Hello birthday girl, ready for your present?” at the beginning of the interaction was mega sus from the get go.
