'Why Don't Atheists Kill Themselves?'

I regularly receive comments such as 'If life has no objective meaning and purpose, what is the point? Why don't atheists kill themselves?' Due to my religious history I can empathize with the authors of these comments and their potential existential crisis, however, as an atheist, I now view these questions as irrational, childish and narcissistic. In this video I explain how a life without God does not equal a life without meaning, purpose and hope.

Life could also IMPROVE after leaving a religion. For an empathic person, losing their beliefs in a vindictive God could free them from worrying about the immortal souls of non-Christian friends / family members. It could be a huge relief.

My son pointed out that Christianity is narcissistic. With the exception of Judaism which doesn’t require a belief in God or a fantasy afterlife. Religion is narcissistic.

I don't need extraneous additions to reality to give my life meaning, and I always feel bad for all the things the Christians I know miss out on. So much time spent on religion that you can't get back, so many parts of life considered out of bounds because religion says so. My family and church always told me not to get led astray by "the (secular) world", I left religion and fully immersed myself in the secular world and it's amazing. So many wonderful people and things to know and experience, life is so much fuller and even more meaningful now.

This was fantastic! My adult grandson just asked this question this short life is all there is, what's the point'. He finally left the religion after a lot of soul searching and anquish. I will definitely forward this to him. He was recently disfellowshipped, so has lost his mom, dad, sister and friends. All because he is gay. He tried to 'pray the gay away'. After 38 years, he couldn't take anymore. I love your video's. Keep up the good work.
