An impressive talk addressing the deeper psychological and societal questions underlying the authorship question. Well done Bill, I'll be looking out for the next book!

William Leahy would have done better to leave Genesis out of it, most of the people who believe in the Jewish and Christian religions don't believe in a fundamentalist reading of Genesis.

I'm sure the Stratfordians are deeply saddened and highly frustrated that details of the private life of Shaksper have not survived. It is therefore quite understandable that, for the benefit of Shakespeare lovers around the world, they would try to fill in the gaps by writing biographies based on probabilities and possibilities.

The anti-Stratfordians, for their part, are guilty of the same. For example, there is not a shred of evidence that Marlowe went to live in Italy. Nor is there any evidence that the Earl of Oxford hired Shaksper to serve as his front man. Unlike these candidates, Shaksper of Stratford did not need a motive to put the name “Shakespeare” on the publications (it was the literary spelling of his own name). Until the anti-Stratfordians can find a credible motive for a group conspiracy, the vast majority of academia is likely to remain in the Stratfordian camp.
