I love the early illustrators getting the recognition they deserve, John. The “fanciful depictions” are a big part of the product’s success. (Deceptive, but important.) Especially Ben Harvey who made a major contribution to the physical structure of the characters with the longer leaner bodies and the single row of fins down the back. It’s been an interesting progression to the Sea-Monkeys we know today.

I know I've already watched the long form version of these videos, but I'll watch them again because they are excellent.

In retrospect, it's a little weird that the first pouch doesn't have enough salts to bring the salinity all the way up to the target. I know brine shrimp can handle a wide rang of salinity, but it seems like you'd want ideal conditions for the eggs in the first pouch to hatch into, and avoid the sudden shock of doubling the salinity with the second pouch...

This is probably why you've gotten great results just adding both 1&2 at the start; no salinity shocks, all of the eggs at once (aside from those in the food packet), and ideal salinity from the start...

Good to know that pack 1's salt content really makes a difference in hatching pack 2. Thanks!

Thank you for documenting so much. I have been doing a lot of research with hermit crabs and they are definitely in the same timeline and share some of the same characters!

All these experiments make me wonder how fresh hatched Sea Monkeys would do if you cycled a tank like you do for fish. Get all the bacteria for the ammonia to nitrite process going first then add the eggs.

Hmmm I notice that you pour 2 pack in together at the same time, it doesn't need that 24 hour period?

HELP!!! I opened my packet of instant live eggs today & it was bright green inside and was all stuck together, which made it difficult to pour into the tank. Does this mean that the eggs are already destroyed? The video of me opening the packet is on my most recent Youtube short. I hope you can help☺
