The use of "blueprint" as a term is very misleading. It comes from the teleological view of humanity and does not really convey that DNA is just a molecule.

And as noted by another poster, agencies other than DNA form the individual, such as the nurturing by the society around us. But if the thinking is about "blueprints" then one is fixing a human to the molecule, not the entire life experience.
