You're right, of course. But I went a lot of years to school, was a book lover since I learned to read (and I think even when I couldn't read yet and my parents had to read to me!), I went to university some years and I'm 60 now and love the idea of learning all life long. And, when it comes to language learning, some people say that a hundred or a thousand words are enough for everyday conversation?! So, being able to get me a coffee is enough?! I don't think so. I think the reason why migrants always stick together with the people of their country (and I also see this at my father, who is a migrant) is because they want to be able to talk fluently about anything they can think about. But luckily, without normal school, language learning is as much fun as solving riddles.
