Honestly i been here for warthunder content and haven’t been interested in anything else until i found cold waters come on due to auto play and now I can’t get enough of it, i need more of this

Also, the arrow on the AShM panel controls the attack pattern, not attack altitude. The straight arrow is the low-altitude sea-skimming pattern and is much harder to shoot down, while the diagonal arrow is the "pop up, plunge down" pattern which greatly improves target detection in the terminal homing phase, but also poses an easier target for enemy anti-missile guns.

When firing multi-missile salvoes, it can be beneficial to fire only the first missile in pop-up mode, with every subsequent missile in sea-skimming. The sea-skimming missiles will have a much easier time seeing targets painted by the pop-up missile's radar, greatly increasing their accuracy. When firing single missiles, pop-up mode is useless unless you aren't confident with where the target will be when the missile goes active, and basically guarantees that it'll be shot down by a CIWS-equipped enemy.

To be honest, if the wire breaks so frequently regardless if you fire straight out of the nose, you might as well point it in the direction of all the enemies when it swims out -- that way it at least has a better chance of hitting something. Then, control it after the fact if the wire's still intact, lol.

I think your chopper problem came from the tender. It had a helipad and at the first sign of trouble it deployed its chopper so it was there when it spotted the missile trail. Joke’s on the chopper cause he probably lacks sufficient fuel to make it all the way back to China. Take joy in the thoughts that those pilots will probably have to ditch and hope for rescue
