Age of Z Origins - How to defend against stronger enemy and win

This video illustrates self timed defense to increase your chances of successfully defending against overwhelming force.

Doesn't work in Speed Attack (need some time to set up).
Need to have a saved fleet of 1 of each troop type and send out to mines or nearby cities as either attack, reinforcement or gather.
Then time and use recall based on when attacker lands to arrive approximately
10 seconds after battle start for first timed defense of 1 of each
and 16 seconds after battle start for second timed defense fleet.

Hard to execute of course, just keep practicing in no loss events.

This was an extremely helpful video. Thanks for putting it together.

I can see how the potential of this tactic could be incredible. It prompts me to ask questions about whether or not this tactic could be extended.

It looks like you've got your main force in the city, which obviously can't be configured as 1-1-98, but the reinforcements you sent away and called back are in the 1-1-98 formation, basically. Would it be possible to dump the main force of your troops in the alliance hall or fort, and *just* leave a single 1-1-98 formation of troops in the defending city to begin with?

Also, if a player had 4 or 5 fleets unlocked, could they time more than a 10" and 16" call back / replenishment wave, i.e. a 22" and 28" second wave?

Could other players allied with the defending city time TD's of their own in 1-1-98 to arrive at further intervals (34", 40", etc.), in essence soaking damage with low casualties AND replenishing the front row while continually adding to the back row ad infinitum?

I ask because, if so, given the proper coordination between a team, this could be an absolute game changer of a tactic. Otherwise futile match-ups would become winnable with teamwork.

So recalled fleets automatically joins city defense if theres an active battle? Or is there something else i need to do?

I have been trying this for a while, can't seem to figure out the spacing just yet, thanks for the help. 😃

How well you think this would work ina solo attack? Send your main fleet then say 3 seconds after send the single units then 3 seconds later do it again..i would much rather lose lowere level front and middle row than a bunch of higher level back row

you should do a video about long range vs mid range

Is it possible to do this with rally and disband? If I send troops to friendly cities or mines, it would be difficult for me to control the time.

I do it sometimes in events without losses, but I would never do it in a vacuum, I would lose many troops, the ideal is to only have what your hospital can handle.

How do you set up a join? Do you have to be playing at that time to do it?

In Concept this is great, but when you are in a loss events, most of the fleets should be already used up hiding troops over hospital capacity. For a player with 1 million troops in a city, its necessary to use those extra fleets to empty the city in case of a large speed attack that will zero you. In this situation where your city is pretty much empty I can see how it would be benificial.
