Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa. His performance in Inglorious Bastards was one of the best in his career.

Javier Bardem brought one of, if not, the best portrayals of a true psychopath to film. The unease that was felt after I left the theater was something that stuck with me for a very long time. He proved that you don't have to be overt in your actions to be psychopathic. Sometimes, subtlety and calculation of actions can be even more terrifying.

Edit: This is one of the best videos WM has done in a very long time

Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa was genuinely the coldest villain I have ever seen on a big screen. My God! Those first 20 minutes of Inglourious Basterds secured his Oscar alone!

It’s been over 14 years, Mr. Heath Ledger, we still miss you.

A lot of these are some of my favourite characters ever. One of my favourite & one of the most awesome villains ever that of course doesn't get on this list was Gary Oldman as Norman Stansfield in Leon. Nobody has ever played a doped up & deranged psychopath as brilliantly.

Sir Anthony Hopkins did an amazing job playing the infamous Hannibal Lecter from ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ and won the Academy Award.

At first I was shocked Anthony Hopkins was number 2 but when number 1 was unveiled I agree 100%. RIP Heath Ledger.

Ralph Fiennes for 'Schindler's List' or John Malkovich for 'In the Line of Fire' would be on this list for sure if the Academy didn't mess up with Tommy Lee Jones win

Michael Douglas did an impressive job playing Gordon Gecko, the villainous character who chose both corruption and greed.
‘Wall Street’ is turning 35 this year.

Kevin Spacey won an Oscar for The Usual Suspects. Still one of my favorite films.

While all of my friends were watching Sex and the City while we were in college, I was a huge Oz fan. The show was so well written and the acting was impeccable, but JK Simmons definitely stood out for me. I had no idea if he had ever been in any movies before, but I always said to myself that this guy needed to win an Oscar someday. His managing to imbue humanity in such a vile human being as Vernon Schillinger is a testament to what a great actor he is. To top it off, he is said to be one of the nicest people in Hollywood, and I am glad that he's getting the recognition that he deserves.

JK Simmons should be #1. Best performance from last 20 years, as well as whiplash is one of the best movies ever

Ledger’s Dark Knight performance is my favorite of all time. I’m not a comic book movie guy at all but his portrayal is just haunting.

Gene Hackman in Unforgiven should've had an honorable mention

I hope whoever did the hair and makeup for "Monster" won an oscar. To make Charlize Theron; likely the most beautiful woman alive that plain is truly excellence!
