Peter is one of the most entertaining collapsologists ever.

I really dislike when someone takes an interview that's at least 6 months to a year (maybe 2 years) old, repackages it, and puts it on YouTube like it's a new interview. How do I know it's not new? the part about the Russia - Ukraine war is discussed like it is Dec / Jan time frame (note: this was posted on Nov 1st 2024).

Peter is good at explaining the past and how it shaped where we are today, but, he isn't very good at predicting the future. And he has made a fortune telling people what the future holds. Bravo, Peter!

This is Peter’s best interview that I’ve listened to. This host is so engaging and knowledgeable.

Z is a good storyteller. He also sounds convincing until he speaks about something you have knowledge about. He sells stories that make north americans feel good and secure in a world where they matter less and less.

Loves the sound of his own voice a bit too much - doesn't mean he's absolutely wrong about all of this BUT he does like being listened to

"Most analysts are assholes" very insightful Peter. Were you looking in a mirror when you came up with that one?🤔

The Philippines is still the blindspot in Peter Zeihan's geopolitical mindsight. It's a country that has one-third of the US population in an area the size of California or more like Florida and Georgia combined. It also has a fractured mountainous island geography that has internal inter-island waters that act like the Mississippi-Missouri-Ohio river systems, somewhat similar to Japan and Indonesia. Peter doesn't seem to have a demographic view of the Philippines, probably because no one has yet hired him to look at the archipelago in detail.

Zeihan is a perfect example of failing upwards. No matter how wrong he is. How many times. How consistently. He just gets more gigs. In a nutshell there can be no better example of the rot at the heart of Western intelligentsia. Tell them they are winning, at worse losing less and you'll never lack for work.

He underestimates the potential of civil war in the United States destroying stability in North America

Excellent interview. I think Peter's assessment of ev's in the future is not correct but otherwise his reasoning is sound. Will be interesting to see if robotics affects his demographic conclusions.

USA will be fine economically because in about 20 years, Millennials will be rich as hell and will invest and GenZ tech Savy will highly advance the economy. They still have young people to keep consuming, only USA, Canada, Mexico and India have the luxury of young people with skills in 20 years. Canada was smart to import all the young middle class from India and Philippines. They will see the fruits of that in 20 years, kind of saved them from destruction in the geopolitical world.

Peter is wrong about uranium supply. The federal government has been ramping up uranium production capability for the last few years.

Psst Zeihan, Crimea didn't have the bridge in 2014 and had their water canal blocked by Ukraine.. they did survive it ..

This global recession/collapse might end up being a part of us for a very long time. With inflation currently at about 5%, my primary concern is how to maximize my savings/retirement fund of about $680k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains.
