Actually the real answer is he wanted to win trophies🤣🤣🤣

He had a unique style of play or moves where we hardly ever find one right now. He's one of a kind.

actually he wanted a child and his ex wife couldn’t give any.

Fergie said it himself, “I’ve bought us a striker who will win us the league. If you don’t pass the ball to him, you won’t play”. And how right he was 👍

He sits just between arrogance and confidence, comes from being a supreme footballer. Got to say I loved him at Arsenal.

if i'm not mistaken, he didn't want the huge amount of wage that has been offered. he wanted the assurance that the board will invest in players to win the league, but during that time the board had no ambition to win anything and was primarily focusing on paying off the debt of the new stadium. wenger told him to go to utd because he thought that a player with his calibre should win something and rvp was hungry for success.

Thank you for your services with MancU. We loved you then, we loved you at MancU, and we still love you RVP. Our living legend.

That van Persie flying head kick goal against Spain at the 2014 World Cup was a jewel (only surpassed by James Rodriguez superb left volley to score 1-0 against Uruguay) ⚽

He had a year left on his contract and Arsenal werent in a hurry to renew as he was turning 30 and had a terrible history of injuries. So they cashed in and got a great fee for him. As it turned out he did only have one more good season left in his legs. He ended up winning the Premier League that season, and had a 4 year contract with united despite being crocked for 3/4 of it. so it worked out for him personally and in the long term it was probably best for Arsenal as well as they were able to reinvest in the squad instead of losing him for free the next season.

The fact that he switched thankfully landed him a league medal. Kane is on a similar trophyless path. He will also hopefully switch just at his downhill and win 1 league or so and forever be seen as "such a great player but didn't win much"

van persie was a man that actually bring me to the football world and a reason for me to love arsenal back when he is still playing for them.

I usually hate to see players go to rivals clubs but this one made sense. He got win pl and Arsenal of that era lacked ambition by allowing united to have him

I met him in the hotel they where staying at in Norway ( Norway-Netherlands ) he got excited to see me and my two friends with Arsenal shirts, signed them for us and kicked off some small talk. Asked him about his future in the club and he said he really wanted to stay. - not long after he left :/ i needed to see this 🙏

I don’t even blame him. We had no ambition then & if we don’t sign anyone this window, NOTHING has changed.
