Those are a must have for hydraulic hoses

they’re also slightly thinner than your typical wrench which comes in handy in narrow spaces.

Yeah those wrenches for hydraulic fittings are indeed marvelous.

Another oddball wrench one used to see a lot, but seldom does nowadays, are those "S" bend wrenches handy for getting around obstructions. You can still get them, of course, even from "Horror Fright, " but they're just not as common as they once were. I presume ratchets with extensions and universal joints and such have sort of supplanted them. A couple of years ago, I stumbled upon a pair of old maybe late '40s Craftsman tool boxes on the curb with a sign "For Recycling". Needless to say, they didn't make it to the facility. There were a whole bouquet of those "S-bend" things from various manufacturers and also also offset wrenches. There were also a bunch of wacky 32nds sizes of yore like 19/32. Apparently, old Fords used to be festooned with the things back in pre-SAE days. Nowadays, a 19/32 can just serve as a perfectly fine substitution for that 15mm often skipped in Metric sets, which one does find in the wild from time to time.

Can this be a flank drive plus and may this purchase be better than the standard wrenches 🔧

TEKTON offers a 60°/30° as well and not quite as expensive. The Tekton works great on the older Ford OBS 6.9s and 7.3 injection jumps as well as hydraulic fittings on other applications

I'm a suspension mechanic and use them often, they bail me out on everything from air bag fasteners and fittings to really hard to reach air line fittings on semis, I have the Snap-on underline era set from 1/4"-1" that are still fully polished, I'm a nut about scratches on my wrenches

"where are you going to use it?" In the 7th pit of Hell, that's where.
When you need to reposition a wrench 24 times per turn of a nut, including taking the wrench right off and spinning it end to end, you are in a very bad place, and seriously questioning your career choices.

I don’t always use my four way wrench but when I do!!! Well I’m glad I have it.

Try the Wera Joker camming wrenches. They are soo handy to have

The shallow angle is a different offset than a combination wrench. Many times I have to use all 6 possible angles to turn my fasteners!

I bought the metric set for modern vehicle work. They come in handy for some brake lone configurations, and power steering lines when they're in tight spaces down near the rack & pinion assembly.

These are the best hands down for hydraulics and forklifts and other equipment. None come close. I am not the hugest snap-on fan but snap-on angle wrenches are the best.

I always liked the Mack offset, there not as sharp in my hand as a snap-on

I’ve got those plus a set of Mac angle wrenches, yet again a different angle of attack on those.

Downside is they are typically a shorter length and are pressing down on the on the open 45/60 degree end sucks. Regardless they are pretty much mandatory in hydraulics, you may not need them every day but you’re going to need them regularly enough. I cut a set of the jumbo Pittsburgh in half so I have a short wrench to use that’s a little bit bigger than a Service wrench, but also something that will take a cheater pipe, and they work as a slugging wrench as well (kinda). Don’t be afraid to use your air hammer with chisel to get things off, then use your wrenches to tighten the new fittings.
