This video introduces quadratic functions in standard form and discusses several characteristics of a quadratic function and its graph (a parabola), including its vertex, its axis of symmetry, whether the parabola opens upward/downward, whether the vertex is a maximum or minimum value of the function, the domain and range, and the intervals on which the function is increasing/decreasing.

Finding the Vertex - 2:41
Writing the Axis of Symmetry - 5:26
Parabola Opens Upward/Downward - 7:09
Vertex as a Maximum/Minimum Value - 7:46

Good day James, I recently started retrieving my math knowledge from a distant past and have to say that at first glance your playlist have proved extremely useful. My plan is to start with Polynomials, so I think I'm in the right place here. I also want to compliment you on your very clear handwriting; I would also like to own such a handwriting. I've just had a good look at this introductory video on Parabolas and have to say that so far everything is clear to me. Thank you very much for the clarity of it. I'm looking forward to the next videos! Greetings from Holland, Jan-W
