Dr. Broome: I tell folks all the time, come see us when you first start having symptoms, you know what, when people come in and it's at the bitter end, and they're end-stage arthritis, it's bone on bone, none of the treatments are really going to have a lasting effect. If you come in when you first start having that recurrent knee pain, or you start first start having that recurrent hip pain, and we see early signs of arthritis, either on the X rays or on our exam findings, we have a whole lot of things that we can do to prevent that from getting worse and you know, starting with just the diet, nutrition, and exercises, and maybe anti-inflammatory medications, we have a wealth of different types of injections that we can do anywhere from just cortisone just to take the edge of the pain off and cut down the inflammation to give you quick relief to biologic things like platelet-rich plasma and we use adipose tissue with some kind of regenerative capacity to really get in there and try to make the cartilage healthier, but the goal is to really stop the breakdown going forward. So we have lots of options. If you don't wait till it's too late.
