I’ve had a laptop sitting around for about a year because of a failed drive and didn’t know it had screws under those rubber pads nice video

Thank you. A warning for those attempting, be vary careful with the disk drive. Ended up snapping the clip that holds the black plastic on

Thanks! Our fan just went out and needs replacement. Keeping this video handy until the replacement fan comes in! also, looking into a memory upgrade!

This also applies to an HP 15Z-BW000. The video helped me get the fan and screen hinges reinstalled in the correct order and also helped with which screws go where. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this. I managed to clean out my fan (it was full of dust) and get my laptop working again! You’re a real gem and a big help 👍

Top tip: don’t try to close the screen while the backplate is removed. I damaged the right hinge of the screen. This model is clearly not designed to easily upgrade the disk or the memory.

Thank You for sharing this... very helpful to know of hidden screws vs removing screws and prying on thin plastic.. Saved me from breaking stuff opening!

I have a laptop exactly like this one. My DC power port is all loose and I don't really wanna spend money on buying another one. Mine is perfectly fine, except for that of course. I would really appreciate it you make a video on how to replace that part. Seeing how you disassembled it made it look so easy but I also don't want to mess it up. Thank you for making these type of videos!

Just FYI - there are four screws under the rubber feet too. Don't forget to remove them like I did lol :)

Great job and THANK YOU! This hidden screws are a good thing to know about. I now have 16GB ram and a fast SSD. WOW, what a difference.

Be careful when prying off the back plate, especially near the ports. I managed to snap the plastic by using too much force.

Easy to follow. Heads up folks: not all HP15s have dual memory sockets, as I found out when I opened up a client’s laptop.

Attention: NEVER open or close the screen while the backplate is removed, the screws that hold the backplate also hold a lot of the components in place, and the hinges WILL SNAP the other screws keeping them in.

Also, because those screws hold everything together, flipping the pc will make components fall out, so screw the cover back on, even if all you have to do is testing if everything works.

Don't make my same mistakes, and have fun
