I'm a little anti-social and kinda paranoid so I don't interact with strangers beyond a greeting and I never stop moving.

I had heard (from a Vegas local) that it's actually Vegas law that cosplayers and supposed showgirls CAN'T ask for an amount of money to give them. They work for tips only and have to take what you give them, especially if you're taking the picture with your own camera. They don't work for the casinos, just themselves.

Also, about 6 years ago in beautiful Salzburg, there were beggars that sit in a twisted way to look like they were born deformed and ask for money. In Paris, a young women threw a gold wedding ring on the floor when she was passing next to us. We though she dropped it by mistake and immediately picked it up and tried to give it to her. She refused over and over again saying that is a gold ring which is a gift for my son when he gets married. We did not want to take it but she refused to take it back and then started asking for money for the favour of giving us a "gold" ring. I gave her but she started chasing after me to ask for more.

No monk should ever ask for money in exchange for a trinket or as a donation to charity!

I don’t think I ever was scammed. Or it was so clever that I didn’t notice it.😅
Regarding transportation: I usually take public transport. In the rare case I don’t I either order by App (Uber, Grab, …) or from the Hotel.

A potential Public Transport scam though (they tried it in NYC): group of young guys in a city subway stop who wanted my Metro Card because I wouldn’t need it anymore. Except you do need it again for that Air Train.
Maybe not so relevant nowadays as you can just pay with credit card and don’t need the metro card anymore

My rule is never to go where someone is calling you in. Also, walk a few blocks from a major tourist attraction before eating or shopping.

A variation on the taxi scams I learned on a cruise channel is that the taxi will quote you a price to go to a destination which is a reasonable price but will charge a ridiculously high price knowing you are desperate to get back to your cruise ship.

Gift shop: A tourist sees an item they want and after purchasing it, the employee will take it to the back or out of sight to wrap it. You find out later that you got something different than what you paid for.

In Prague, don't exchange money on the street. You may end up with Belarus rubles. Also, some of the money changing places won't give you a good deal. Check the exchange rate beore you go in. There are many places where you can get a fair rate.
