Another rule that might help...if it usually takes an article, use zu. If there is no article, use nach.

Ich fliege in die Schweiz/Vereinigten Staaten/Vereinigten Emirate.

Countries with der/die as article or countries with plural use in + article (Akkusative!)

I agree with those below! You make German fun and I actually get super excited to learn watching your videos! (Of course I believe energy is contagious and you are infectious with positive energy!!! :) You explain things in an easy way to understand. I have studied Deutsch intermittently on my own for 5 years - Rosetta Stone, Duolingo, Babbel, week long intensive course one- on- one with teacher ( I DO NOT recommend this torture!), and finally now a group class. Someone in the class introduced me to you and I"m full of gratitude! SO VIELEN VIELEN Dank! Now one question from this video - how do you know to use ZUR or ZUM vs just ZU????
