Higher Gain means the antenna is more directional and will thus let you reach further. If you are closer to the antenna with high gain then you increase signal quality and strength.

Like I stated before, it all depends on your goals. Generally if you are looking to capture a signal from a source 1 mile away and for only one user you can use an indoor yagi kit with an alfa. Still have to think about obstructions what obstructions are in your line of sight.

Depends on what your goals are. Do you want to grab a signal from another location? Do you want to send a signal to another location? Do you have a direct line of sight to the signal? How far is the signal you are trying to receive?

Can i use a Dish Type Radio Antenna as range antenna on Modem Router?

hi. I just bought a 7 dbi antenna omnidirecctional (rubber ducks) to replace my router original 3 dbi antenna. I didnt notice any improvement in range at all. Do i have to adjust settings in my router in order to notice improvements in range with the new antennas??? help please!!! thanks

Thanks for your video I just learned more about antennas than I have ever known . You seem like the Guy that can answer my question. I haven't installed them yet . I have a Midland radio to put in my truck and a Haloview camera to put on my travel trailer. The radio and the monitor will both be in the cab next to each other and both will have aerials my question is that one is radio wave and the other is video wave will they be able to work beside each other or will the waves distort each other ?
